What a great day!

The whole of Spring Family Fun Day was fantastic from beginning to end. With wall-to-wall sunshine and clear blue skies, Penn Farm was looking its absolute best as we welcomed families from across the community – from grandparents to parents, and plenty of little ones enjoying their first taste of life on a working farm.

It was exactly the kind of day we hope for: relaxed, full of energy and rooted in everything that makes our estate so special.

Thank you for coming, bringing your families, and sharing the day with us. That’s what makes these events so special.

Watch our video of the day and check out some of the photos. Can you spot yourself?

Farming, food and fresh air

Families enjoyed everything from tractor driving and trailer rides around the estate to the farmer’s agility course.

We had gun dog demonstrations, a conservation talk, Q & A with the farm manager, livestock discussions and a great welcome at the entry gate by The Montreal Estate team.

Altogether, it gave everyone a real look at life on a working estate.

The day wouldn’t have been complete without great food. Standen Country Catering served up farm favourites including sausage rolls, cheese straws and our legendary beef or venison Montreal burgers, while FIKA Bends & Friends kept everyone refreshed with coffee, teas, iced coolers and cakes.

And of course, a highlight for many was meeting the animals, from seeing this season’s lambs up close to walking one of our prize Sussex cows.

Congratulations to our competition winners!

Ramona Palmer came closest in Guess the Weight of the Bull, estimating 475kg, with the bull weighing in at an impressive 489kg.

And in Guess the Age of the Tree, young Arlo Fribbens was just 2 years off with a guess of 65 (the correct age was 67)!

Great guesses all round!

Looking Ahead

While Spring Family Fun Day may be over for another year, we’re already looking ahead to what’s next…

Join us on Saturday 5th September, for a family farm summer festival where local music, produce, and nature come together. Meri Festival is about celebrating the countryside, supporting local talent, and enjoying a classic British summer.
